Biography
David is the founder of timberbits.com, an online retailer specializing in Woodturning and Woodworking tools and consumables.
With over 15 years of experience in pen turning and woodturning, what started as a hobby has now turned into a passion.
Timberbits started “by accident”. As a penmaker he was sick of poor service, poor range and expensive prices – Australian customers were paying exorbitant prices compared to other parts of the world.
David started Timberbits at home in the garage which he has outgrown of and now has a prime (1,400m2) street front location in Sydney. He began importing pen kits and tools directly from China which he initially started selling on eBay and then developed a dedicated website.
Timberbits is now the online leading supplier for woodturning and woodworking tools and consumables in Australia, with 65% of customers domestic and 35% of customers international. Timberbits continues to grow 30% year on year.
Key factors attributing to Timberbits’ success are exceptional customer service, diverse product range, great prices and warehouse efficiency.
