Biography
Melissa Wilkinson founded Foresight Online Group nine years ago and is passionate about designing and creating beautiful, innovative products with a sentimental edge.
She holds a degree in Industrial Design (Hons) from UNSW and her background designing product ranges for clients including Disney, Adidas and David Jones offered invaluable lessons in customer management and manufacturing.
Her own engagement caused Melissa to observe a gap in the wedding market for original, personalised, reasonably-priced wedding products, so she set out to rectify the situation by establishing an online store to fill this void…and the rest is history.
Originally operating as an e-Bay store from her garage, Melissa and brother-in-law Matt have since transformed Foresight Online Group from a backyard operation into a multimillion dollar international enterprise, operating throughout Australasia and the US.
A recent move to an 1800m² factory premises on the scenic NSW Central Coast allows all artwork, design and product customisation to take place onsite, promoting cost effectiveness and reducing the margin for error and risk of delay.
The group currently incorporates six successful e-commerce businesses, employs 20 staff and dispatches more than 2500 orders across Australia, Asia-Pacific and the US every month.
Melissa prides herself on fostering an inclusive and connected team and is always on the lookout for new ideas and inspiration. She loves getting hands-on in the production room, honing her expert laser engraving skills on one of the company’s six state-of-the-art Trotec machines.
When she’s not engineering her next e-commerce enterprise, Melissa loves scheduling holidays with her husband and girlfriends, getting her nails done and is a Bounce Fitness devotee.
