Nick Molnar has been in the online retail industry for close to 10 years. A born entrepreneur, Nick started selling jewellery during university and soon found out how to create a successful business online. From becoming the most successful jewellery store on eBay to launching Australia’s iceonline.com.au (the largest pureplay jewellery and watch retailer) it was just a matter of time before his next venture began. Through a combination of his invaluable retail experience coupled with his time as an Investment Analyst primarily looking after opportunities in the technology sector, the idea of “Afterpay” was born. Launched in 2014, Afterpay is a customer-centric payment solution allowing customers to ‘buy now and pay later’, layby 2.0. Afterpay is disrupting payments for the better by offering customers choice and convenience, causing a major uplift in key metrics for retailers too. Afterpay successfully listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in May 2016.
Afterpay now partners with 3700 retailers, has grown 600,000 customers in one year and process 15% of total online fashion transactions in Australia. Most recently Nick was named in the Forbes 30 under 30, Asia.
